Technical Assistance to HIBA, Damascus, Syria
  | November 2002 - November 2007
The project fell within the framework of the international co-operation activities funded by the European Commission within the MEDA Programme.
Fondazione CUOA realized this technical assistance project for the development of the Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA) of Damascus in partnership with Transtec (Belgium), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School (Ireland), Université Parigi IX Dauphine (France) and Université de Mons-Hainaut (Belgium).

HIBA was founded in June 2001 for the purpose of giving a contribution to the development of the country by training qualified managers both in the private and the public sectors, and following the most up-to-date international standards, it promotes management training, counselling and research activities in support of enterprises that are facing the global market's new challenges.

The European partners' support to HIBA focussed on the implementation of a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and of a Master of Business Administration at an internationally renowned level of quality, and on short-term executive training programmes, consultancy and applied research activities.
A continuation of European support after the end of the project has been granted by strategic partnerships with leading business schools in Europe.
